Sucker Punched

This year, 2020, has been an extremely impactful punch to the gut, heart and mind. We all rang in this last year with aspirations, goals and plans. We had this hope embedded into the next 366, the year looked merry and bright.

Who would have ever thought that the events that dominoed could ever be possible…

From masks becoming part of our daily routines when stepping outside (heck they’re even fashionable) to staying safely distanced (you better back that hug up dude…no touchy! 😂). Our favorite restaurants now turned to strictly take-out and delivery. The days spent at the beach haulted, picnics at the park restricted. A Stay at Home order put into yet again, Lockdown 2.0 has grounded us.

Who would’ve ever thought that grocery shopping and hitting Tarhet would be the highlight of the day. 😂

We watch the news to keep up-to-date on all things COVID-19, our hearts sucker punched as the rise in cases and deaths tower.

My mind is baffled in a frustrated way when seeing videos of those who refuse to wear a mask or social distance, they have taken their ignorance and turned this horrible virus from a serious health concern to a stupid political problem.

And you wonder why the virus is still on the hunt after nearly 10 months 🙄

Keeping positive, finding inspirations, it’s been a challenge.

I’m not sure how this post will read, hopefully it makes sense…my brain is racing as usual, however, the thoughts have been heavier, not always easy to express or even write.

The good moments throughout this year a definitely golden and tightly grasped.

While tragedy, division and Heartbreak have been the two major headlines of 2020…movements have created action, resilience and hope. I choose to believe that those three words will map out 2021.

Wherever you are in this world, I hope you are safe..healthy..and holding onto your dreams.

Much love guys ❤

The downside for me as a freelance writer is that all the jobs I was promised in 2019 suddenly just dissipated into thin air once the pandemic rolled around.

But other than that, I feel like it’s nothing I can’t overcome. Wishing you a great end to the year!
