Frozen Burn

As the midnight hour slowly sneaks in, a deep breath is taken in as my mind silently prays…

Hush little heart, don’t dream any dreams tonight..

Don’t plant any seeds of hopeless romantic sunflowers surrounding a love that will never be..

Delete the handsome image of him out of my cerebral database. Take his blip off of my radar, he can’t be on mine, I’m not on his..

Too long you’ve sweetly tortured me with these snippets of a future love, a one sided emotion storm, I can’t keep swimming anymore..

Burn down the fields were yellow surrounded, freeze the ocean where confessing sunsets led to awakening kisses..

Extract all of the “never going to happen” moments and take me back to where the monsters reside..

This divided bridge, on lane leading to letting go and the other lane tempting me to take an insane leap..burn it.

You and I were never meant to be..

Were we….?

When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we’ll see
No I won’t be afraid, no I won’t be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me…” -Ben E. King
