Heathens

Dear fellow heathens,

I know most letters begin with the infamous inquiry of how one is doing, but I find that this simple question is sometimes much to deep. Not every life is constantly sprinkled with unicorns and rainbows. So instead I will ask how was your day? Hopefully your mind woke up on the right side of the bed. I know too often it wakes on the wrong side, like a hard habit. Hopefully the taste of a hot cup of coffee prompted a sense of greatness ready to be achieved.

How’s the weather? Usually storms slam the skies, even in the warmest of a clear blue universe. I personally find it useful to carry an invisible umbrella just incase the forecast shifts due to social thunder. Do you have a chaotic day of work ahead? Well, knowing you, you’ll turn chaos into nothing at all. After a long day with the world I find that a night in cooking and relaxing with the sweet sounds of family and friends is very therapeutic. Speaking of, how is the family?

All my friends are heathens. Take it slow
Wait for them to ask you who you know
Please don’t make any sudden moves
You don’t know the half of the abuse

We don’t deal with outsiders very well
They say newcomers have a certain smell
You have trust issues, not to mention
They say they can smell your intentions… -Twenty One Pilots

I know how precious your time is so I’ll end this letter with a small piece of advice that allows me to fall asleep on a good note. Even the most stressful days have a silver lining, it may be microscopic, but it exists. Fall asleep with it in the front of your mind. Life as heathens is trying, causing us to bare the weight of the world on our shoulders. We too often feel alienated by society and internally anxious in small crowds. Large crowds are comforting because they’re easier to become invisible in. I want you to know something, even though we’re brainwashed into thinking that we humans are on different levels in life, we are in fact all on the same level. We all breath the same air… we all live on the same planet… we all have a wondering mind… we all have a beating heart. We all came into this world the same way and we’ll exit the same as well. So remember,  even though they may mistreat you, don’t stoop to their ignorance.

Know that I’m always thinking of you and that you’re frickin’ amazing!

Love, -D-
