Hello gorgeous world! How are you?
Well, another weekend has come and gone. Am I the only one noticing that our weekends fly by quicker and quicker as the years build? Two days to play, relax and get oneself organized for the new week is starting to seem more like one day. 😉
“I’m late… I’m late… for a very important date…” -White Rabbit
I don’t know about you, but with all of the errands that need to be ran and checking things off the “to-do list”, not much time is allotted for just enjoying the simple pleasures in life. I suppose that’s why my Popee advised me from a young age that it’s important to carve out time to make memories. Yes it is important to hustle hard, make your dreams a reality and leave a positive impression on the world, but you in no way want to end up missing out on life. Never get too busy making a living that you forget to make a life. And yes, the is a gigantic difference between the two.
Everyone needs to pause their “career” life and enjoy “everyday” life. Go out and do something crazy, partake in adventures, go wild and let loose. Make time for family and friends. Enjoy the magic of each season. Breathe in every sunrise and sunset. Pause the chaos and play the world.
Picture this: you’re 85 years old, sitting on your front porch. As you sip that refreshing glass of iced peach tea and you’re looking back on your life, what are you reminiscing about? Is your mind playing flashbacks filled with love and goofy times with your squad. Or, are those flashbacks completely filled with long days/ nights at the office. Solo spent holidays? Are you sitting alone on that porch or are you siting with the love of your life? Did you have that family you always wanted? Do you have grandkids? Is your heart empty or overflowing with joy?
Every step you take now effects how your future is built. Though there may be the rare occurrence of second chances during your life, there is no second chance at life. This isn’t Kingdom Hearts. There is no shop were you can purchase extra lives. So make the most of it. You deserve that much. A “shoulda, coulda, woulda” life isn’t a life. It’s your tombstone.
So, how’s your porch scene panning out?
Until next blog… Love Derra ❤
